Mega Road Trip And A Manchester Debut Ft. The Raging Mabels And Swole Castrati
A very delayed post but better late than never!
Back in July we had our last gig before the summer and boy was it a great one. It marked our first time visiting Manchester and also our first excursion up north.

We love meeting new bands and playing new venues so it was a no brainer when Harley from Leaf Promotions asked us to play at Grand Central in Manchester.
Promotion for the gig was excellent and there was great communication with them and the venue the whole time so we had no doubt it would be a great show.
We were also lucky enough that our good friend and fan of the band Alex agreed to drive the 6hr round trip there and back.
We jumped in the car and made the journey in good spirits getting to the venue with plenty of time to settle in and sound check. The promotor met us when we arrived and the whole event was really professional.
It wasn’t long before we were on and we played a mega set including a surprise appearance from the radioactive alien.

I really took the time to enjoy myself on stage and as we played I could see the crowd enjoying themselves too! New crowds are always a bit scary so it’s nice to be welcomed in by a new audience.
Although we had a few minor technical difficulties we gave it our all and had a great time. We also rank this 9/10 on the sweatiest stage scale.

Next up were The Raging Mabels a trio from Oswestry who played a blistering set of punk songs. I particularly liked the home made cigar box guitar and baritone guitar made from a chopping board! Definitely worth checking them out

Headlining the night were Swole Castrati who rounded things off with an excellent set of chaotic riffs and great stage presence. By this point the crowd were loving it and there was plenty of dancing/moshing going on. Another band to watch
We said our goodbyes and made our way home on what became a never ending journey of diversions and wrong turns (we nearly dropped Billy off in the wrong town!) but we eventually made it home. Huge thanks to Alex for being our driver for the evening, we are forever grateful.
We all had an amazing time in Manchester and we hope to come back soon!
